Sometimes a Pony Eco Friendly Maple Wood Prints
Sometimes, especially in these tumultuous days, many of us struggle with depression.
During the pandemic I discovered a band called Silver Jews. In New Jersey, David Berman, plus Stephen Malmus and Bob Nastanovich joined together in 1989. They created six albums together.
During the pandemic one of their songs really resounded with me. It is called Sometimes a Pony Gets Depressed from the Tumblewood Numbers album.
Here is a snippet of lyrics to give you the vibe:
Where does an animal sleep when the ground is wet?
Cows in the ballroom, chickens in the farmer's corvette.
Sometimes a pony
Sometimes a pony
Sometimes a pony
Gets depressed!
How does an animal see once the sun has set?
Bandits in the capital, limited civilian unrest.
Something about the idea that even ponies may get depressed gave me encouragement somehow? That animals could also have a rough time as they scan the horizon each day. Sadly David Berman didn’t stick around to help us to understand these lyrics more fully.
Please know that depression is not a failure, it is a reality of life and humanity.
There are a variety of things we can do to help reduce its impact in our lives. For example, put self-care at the top of your list. That means doing your best to exercise when you can, eat as healthy as possible, prioritize sleep and try to surround yourself with people that give you joy and comfort. Be patient with yourself. If you need professional help to get through it, give yourself that gift. Luckily, there are many more options than there used to be to find help. For example there are many online therapy options which can be convenient and affordable.
I like to think that we’d collectively give a pony love and support if they needed it, and each one us should have that too! Don’t be afraid to ask for the help you need. It is there for you. #depression #selfcare #goodfood #getsleep #bepatient #askforhelp #reachout #silverjews #sometimesapony #fineartprints #abstractart

Each of our maple wood custom panels is printed directly onto 1/2" thick maple surfaced wood, giving a warm and natural looking print that’s also eco-friendly. The stunning wood grain shows through the light or non printed areas of the image, producing a natural warm tone and retro vintage feel.
All panels are wrapped in a protective sleeve with individual plastic or cardboard guards added to each corner. Additional cardboard is secured over the print surface to minimise the risk of breakages or transit damage. Each panel is then shipped in a heavy duty cardboard box.
